Let’s get right to it.

Best Instagrammable Cafes in Singapore: Orchard, Somerset

Glyph Supply Co

A cafe with a simple aesthetic but elegant design. It serves the best coffee, with interesting coffee beans from all over the world!

Grab the window seat and a cup of coffee, as you watch the world go by outside.

Although the food menu is not an extensive list, Glyph serves the most interesting twist to your typical hummus and avocado toast and grilled cheese sandwich. The food and coffee were so good that I visited the place twice within two weeks!

Twenty Eight Cafe

Just an 8-minute walk from Orchard Road, you will find Twenty Eight Cafe, which is an underrated cafe in the area.

It has the best cafe vibes, especially if you are keen to catch up on your emails. In addition to the chatter you hear as multiple friend groups chat away about their lives, you will see and hear a handful of individuals typing away on their MacBooks.

There is a considerable wide variety of pastries and mains served. I’d recommend trying their souffle pancakes – light and airy, but they will fill you up!

Merci Marcel Group

Can’t decide if you’d like some french pancakes or your typical brunch food?

Check out Merci Marcel Group! They serve both! Go to their branch at Orchard. Take a right to their Merci Marcel restaurant which serves up brunch food. Take a left to French Fold, for the best savoury pancakes. You don’t have to make up your mind until you get there.

Merci Marvel’s ambience gives you a nice romantic feel for a brunch date with your loved ones. Alternatively, if you’re travelling solo, request a bar seat to enjoy your pancakes, while people-watching.

At Merci Marcel, I’d recommend the eggs benedict.

At French Fold, I’d recommend the Galettes: No. 4. This option gives you the combination of No. 2, and 3.

Oh, Tiong Bahru Bakery. This bakery has been around for the past 10 years and has since opened a few branches across the country.

While all of the bakeries serve a very similar variety of pastries, hands down the best outlet which is most Instagrammable is at Safari. It’s strategically located.

After your morning run/walk at Botanic Gardens, head over to Tiong Bahru Bakery for brunch. The various pastries are very flaky, which draws me back multiple times!

The dining area is located outdoors with fans, giving you some good natural ventilation.

The great balance and mix of the various coffee beans have set my bar high on what great coffee is. I’d recommend ordering the latte, with Lola’s house blend beans!

With bright and modern interior design, high ceilings, minimal decor and large windows, Craftsmen Specialty Coffee gives you the best vibes with an outdoor seating option! The outdoor seating offers you to enjoy the best view of the bustling Holland Village.

The Craftsmen serves a well-crafted double ristretto latte. Once you’ve decided on your coffee pick, pair your chosen cup of coffee with the Craftsmen savoury waffle. I’d say that is the best waffle/coffee combo!

Alternatively, if you are not a coffee fanatic, try the Chai latte. They have got their chai spice combo right!

Walk through the small entrance and up a few steps, it will bring you to Two Men Bagel House. They serve the best bagels in Singapore, baked daily in front of you. The wide variety of bagels and fillings caters to your day’s mood.

Pick and choose your bagel flavour and fillings. However, if you are not able to decide, the team has crafted the best bagel combo. I’d recommend going for a cream cheese spread if you’re feeling basic. Lox or Avo Bacon if you’re starving!

The rustic interior design leaves you feeling like you’re out in the woods, camping, and best for the gram!

The staff behind the counter is amazing, knowing the ins and outs of what goes into the food to be able to advise accordingly for the different dietary preferences.

I love how The Social Space allows you to mix and match the different open-faced toasts and allows you to upsize your portion based on your day’s appetite. If you visit, I’d recommend the Avo + Egg toast and Burnt Brussel Sprouts + Tahini Butter toast!

Exposed brick walls and concrete floors with wooden finishing – this is the best interior design combo for a cafe. If you are heading there for a lunch date, you will see many folks in workout gear as they are just grabbing their morning coffee and pastry to fuel them for the day.

The team at Populus serves good coffee that I’d pop by to get a cup when I am in the area.

I liked Populus scramble, one of the best sellers on the menu. The scrambled eggs are fried with fresh herbs and with feta cheese.

Wheeler’s Yard

Located along the Whampoa River, this hidden bicycle-themed cafe is my best find in Singapore! A warehouse turned cafe, incorporating all things vintage, the team at Wheeler’s Yard serves the best coffee, tea and sandwiches.

If you’re a bicycle geek, as you walk through the doors, you will notice a variety of vintage bicycles hanging on the walls of the cafe. The metal beams, exposed brick walls, and concrete floors give you a cool, modern feel.

Head on over if you want to celebrate a special occasion or catch up on some emails. The ambience is great with strong, stable wifi, which is worth the 20-minute walk along the river from the nearest MRT station.

The chai latte, whereby the spices are hand roasted and blended in Melbourne, Australia, is the best I’ve had. If you’re starving, I recommend ordering the pulled pork and kimchi sandwich.

Centrally located in the Central Business District (CBD) area, it is crowded all day long, especially during lunch hours. However, the queue is worth the wait as The GlassHouse provides the best tranquillity in the city centre. It is the best hang out spot you can find in the city.

Grids Coffee Bar

Hidden in Chinatown, this cafe serves the best nitro-brewed matcha I’ve tasted. The staff is really helpful, helping you to make the right decisions on the food menu.

The nitro-brewed matcha paired well with the avocado toast. Best value for money as it is topped with lots of walnuts and almonds!

White walls and strong wifi with minimal foot traffic make this cosy cafe the best ambience for focusing on your work on the Macbook! Then, end your day with a cocktail.

Drop by Sarnies and you will most definitely get it! Try the chicken parmigiana, best for big eaters. The chicken is tender and served with a lot of cheese.

Sarnies’ interior design is the best. Wait for your food order before you start snapping away at your camera.

If you’re feeling adventurous, try one of the cocktails. It changes every so often, that depending on when your next visit is, the menu may not be the same.
